OFFICIAL RULES
Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District storm sewer manhole cover design contest
CONTEST DESCRIPTION
The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District invites you to submit your original design for the Project Clean Lake’s storm drain manhole covers.
The winning design will become a standard design to be used on new manhole covers on storm drains installed as part of Project Clean Lake, our program to reduce pollution in Lake Erie.
CONTEST RULES
ELIGIBILITY:
The contest is open to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District 62-community service area. Artists under the age of 18 may enter, but the winner may need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian when accepting his or her prize. See PRIZES below for details.
DESIGN GUIDELINES:
The design will be used in the center circle of manhole covers as shown in the drawing below. The words “Drains to Lake Erie” will be around the design as shown. The manhole cover will be cast in iron, so the design must be limited to black and white art. The design should help raise awareness about the connection between what goes in the storm drain and the health of our Great Lake.
